Our Credo

We believe that music is an essential element of human existence. It is a vehicle of social and economic power. Without it our daily lives would be barren – its value must be acknowledged with compensation and respect.
We believe in creating locally and marketing globally.

Our Vision

We envision a Canadian music industry and environment that provides equal opportunities for the musician and the independent music industry to education, information, funding and exposure on a local, national and international level while creating a high awareness of Canadian music for Canadians.

Our Success Criteria

We will measure the extent to which we have created a positive independent music industry environment by assessing these characteristics:
- efficient, clear communication among members of the music industry
- ready access to information
- access to education and training (with accreditation)
- effective advocacy efforts on behalf of the music industry with government and other stakeholders
- strong development initiatives that promote and advance the industry.
All activities can be measured against whether they lead to sustainable, long-term careers within the Canadian independent music industry.
